Batteries
Lithium-Ion vs Gel
There are 5 main differences between Lithium-Ion batteries and Gel batteries.
-Efficiency
Efficiency refers to how much of the incoming power is successfully stored by the battery. Gel Batteries typically have an efficiency of 85-90% whereas Lithium batteries can reach up to 97%.

-Charge Rate
Higher efficiency also leads to a higher charge rate, meaning that Lithium batteries take less time to reach their full charge capacity than Gel Batteries.
-Depth of Discharge
The amount of power battery can supply before having to be recharged. Lithium batteries can safely discharge up to 80% of the battery's charge capacity without sustaining damage, compared to 50% in gel batteries.

-Energy Density
Energy density refers to the amount of power a battery can store compared to the amount of space the battery needs to store it. Lithium-Ion Batteries have a higher energy density than Gel batteries, meaning they take up less space to store the same amount of energy, making Lithium batteries ideal for applications with a limited amount of space.

-Cycle Life
Discharging a battery and then charging it again fully equates to one cycle. Cycles are generally used to measure ore compare battery health. Because Lithium-Ion batteries can sustain deeper discharges without damage they also have a longer cycle life and can sustain more cycles before having to be replaced.
